DTN Weekly DDG Price Steady on Average
DTN's weekly average spot price for domestic distillers dried grains is
steady versus one week ago.

MINNEAPOLIS (DTN) -- The average DTN spot price for domestic distillers
dried grains (DDG) from 33 locations reporting for the week ended April 1 was
$182 per ton on average, unchanged versus one week ago.
DDG prices were mixed but steady on average for the week, while cash corn
and soybean meal prices were lower. Soybean meal prices were down $3.90 versus
one week ago. As for cash corn, the DTN National Average Corn Index was down 12
cents versus one week ago.
Based on the average of prices collected by DTN, the value of DDG relative
to corn for the week ended April 1 was 1.122%. The value of DDG relative to
soybean meal was 57.20% and the cost per unit of protein for DDG was $6.74
compared to the cost per unit of protein for soybean meal at $6.70.
Ethanol production in the United States averaged 1.075 million barrels per
day (bpd) in the week ended March 27, down 41,000 bpd week-on-week and 12,000
bpd, or 1.1%, higher than in the same week last year, according to the Energy
Information Administration. Four-week average output at 1.103 million bpd was
32,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year. Midwest ethanol production
averaged 1.024 million bpd, down 37,000 bpd week-on-week and 14,000 bpd, or
1.4%, higher than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 1.049
million bpd was 30,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year.
